Michael Jäger was able to capture this stunning image of ISON on October 13, 2013 at 3:20UT.

Here’s a closeup of ISON.

In the closeup image of ISON, we see a couple of bright stars. Going clockwise within the image, according to Stellarium, the stars are magnitudes 10.65, 9.15, 9.75 and 7.95. Recently, observations by amateur astronomers have placed ISON’s magnitude somewhere between 10.4 and 11.2.
